Henry J Hood (1877-1950) was born on 4th September 1877 [1877Q4 Morpeth Vol: 10b, Page: 355] at Hebron (in the district of Morpeth), Northumberland to parents James Hood (1852-??) and Elizabeth James-Hood(1848-??). As a bachelor aged 19 and Grocer Master of Street Houses Carleton, Skipton married Ann Deighton Murgatroyd (1867-1943) a spinster (given age of 25) and Dressmaker at the Register Office by Licence on 10th October 1896 [1896Q4 Skipton Vol: 9a, Page: 80]. Her address is also given as Street Houses Carleton. The two fathers are given as James Hood a Police Constable and Henry Albert Murgatroyd an Auctioneer. The witnesses were not of either family.

In the 1851 census no record has yet been found.

James Hood was born on 25th June 1852 at Beauley Northumberland to parents James Hood (Farm Labourer) and Mary Davison-Hood.

James Hood married Elizabeth James on 6th January 1877 at the Chapelry of Hebron Northumberland. The fathers were James Hood (Agriculturist) and Henry James (Parish Clerk). The witnesses were her father Henry James and Elizabeth Bewick.
Henry James Hood was born on 4th September 1877 at Hebbron Northumberland to parents Henry Hood a Blacksmith(Journeyman), and Elizabeth James-Hood.

Henry J Hood a widower Chauffeur (age 38) married Mary Ellen Horsley (age 30) on 8th March 1916 [1916Q1 Newcastle T Vol: 10b Page: 246]. Her father was Thomas Horsley a General Dealer. His father James Hood is recorded as a Blacksmith (deceased). The witnesses were Chas Lancaster and Jennie Horsley.
They had three daughters:


Ann Deighton Murgatroyd-Hood died at 29 Peterborough Terrace, Bradford on 10 Dec 1943 aged 76 [Ann Deighton Hood formerly Murgatroyd - 1943Q4 Bradford Vol:9b, Page: 193]. She is described as "Wife of Henry James Hood a Master Grocer".
Henry J Hood a Mechanical Engineer aged 72 died in Newcastle on 18th May 1950.
Mary Ellen Horsley-Hood died in Newcastle on 16th January 1958

His parents were James Hood (1852-??) born 25th June 1852 at Beauley, Northumberland and Elizabeth James-Hood(1848-??) born in Hebburn. They were married 6th Jan 1877 at Chapelry of Hebron, Northumberland.
His grandparents were James Hood (c1818-??) born Scotland and Mary Davison-Hood (1821-??) born Mile, Northumberland.
