Mary Shannon (c1826-1908)

Mary Shannon (c1826-1908) was born in Cork, Ireland about 1826. She married Joseph Shannon (c1830-??) and they had children including:

In the 1861 census [RG9/1439 Folio: 19, Page: 31] there is a family at 102 King Street in the parish of St Andrew, Plymouth which comprised:

and separately in the same house possibly Joseph's mother:

The parish registers in Plymouth - Church of England, Non-conformist and Roman Catholic have been searched for any record of the children born in Plymouth, or of their parents and no record has been found. No marriage record has been found in England for the parents.

In the 1871 census a record at 94 Milton Street Finsbury shows:

but no mention of her daughters.

Joseph Shannon died on the 9th June? 18xx in the Union Infirmary Greenwich aged 52 - possibly [1889Q1 Greenwich Vol: 1d, Page: 675]. He was recorded as a Shipwright of 1 Alfred Place Church Street Deptford and the informant was K Easterbrook daughter of 127 Church Street.

In the 1891 census at 127 Church Street Deptford the household comprised:

Mary Shannon was recorded in the 1901 census as a pauper aged 74 in the Paddington Workhouse. She died aged 81 in 1908Q1 [Paddington Vol: 1a, Page: 52].
