christened 16th July 1837 at Saint Dunstan, Stepney, London, England with parents Charles Thorpe & Mary.
• Henrietta Louisa Thorpe-Metcalfe (1838-??)
born [1838Q4 Bethnal Green Vol: 2, Page: 40] to Charles Thorpe and Mary Green-Thorpe on 27th November 1838 and baptised on 21st January 1844 at St Dunstan Church Stepney with parents Charles Thorpe & Mary.

A marriage record further confuses the family history.
Charles Thorpe a Joiner and Widower of full age residing at All Hallowes married Mary Ann Gerner (formerly Kingsford) a widow of full age residing at Barking. The marriage after Banns took place at All Hallows Barking on 23rd February 1840 and was witnessed by his father Thomas Thorpe, a Joiner, and Maria Willbourne. Her father is described as a Tailor "Dead".

Charles Thorpe and most of the family emigrated to South Australia on 14th December 1840 aboard Fairfield - leaving one daughter: Henrietta Louisa Thorpe-Metcalfe (1838-??) behind!
South Australian Passenger Lists: Shipping arrivals and immigration yields the following record: THORPE Charles, 2nd wife Mary Ann GERNER née KINGSFORD, Fred Kingsford GERNER, Ellen Sparshit, Eliza GERNER, Chas Rbt, Clara Maria, John Fred GERNER, (Ernest), Hy Luke arrived 1840-12-14 on Fairfield from London via Plymouth.

Charles Thorpe and Mary Ann Kingsford-Gerner-Thorpe(1808-??) who was born in Canterbury England, had children including:
