In the 1911 census
Edith May Woffenden (1903-1985) was born on 3rd May 1903 [1904Q2 Bradford Vol: 9b, Page: 61/64?].
Edith was very knowledgeable and amazingly wise. She never went on to any higher education after leaving school, as ear and throat infections suffered as a child had left her severely deaf. She read a great deal and watched people, and in fact was extraordinarily perceptive. Her niece Cynthea had a great respect for her and was very fond of her. She married c1950 William Webber (1881-1976) (who was the father of her brother's wife) and lived in Aldwick near Bognor and then at Birdham near Chichester. Her husband William Webber was church warden for many years at Pagham. They had no children. Edith left Sussex in 1976 and moved to Poynton to be near to her brother Alick when her husband William Webber died in 1976 at the ripe old age of 95. She died in 1985 of cancer at the age of 82.
Her parents were James Woffenden (??) and Emily Parker Murgatroyd (1869-??).
Edith May Woffenden was my Mother's first cousin.
